on october 2nd last fall I got all bundled up and drove to toronto for “nuit blanche”, an all-night, free display of contemporary art throughout the downtown area. so I jumped in the car around 1am and drove to toronto.

on my lunch hour one monday in december I was sitting at my computer and decided that just for the fun of it I’d type “siberian kitten” into the search engine on the local online classifieds. just for kicks. what were the chances that someone would be selling an orange purebred siberian kitten for a price that I could afford? I couldn’t even find a breeder within ontario that would sell me a siberian for less than $2000. and back in october when I tried to adopt a siberian from a rescue group in montreal they had so many responses that it took over three weeks for them to get back to me, and by then he had already been adopted for a week. that was tough to take. so I pressed “enter” and there he was, this cute little ball of orange fluff. for a ridiculously low price. I emailed right away.
.
and so, by midnight that night, I was stuffing said orange ball of fluff into my jacket and driving home…

and now, a glimpse into welland culture… the niagara food festival.
it was a chilly, misty sunday afternoon in early october, and I decided to walk over and join the crowd, and check out what this years’ festival had to offer.
here’s the street view with all the food vendors lined up ready to serve…
