monday.

.

continuing my week and a bit in vancouver, one of my main goals for the week was to spend a day wandering all the way around stanley park.  it’s such a beautiful park located right downtown, with a combination of tourist spots, hiking trails through the forest, and the active running and biking trail around the perimeter.  I decided to try to touch on a bit of them all.

.

so we start out with one of the touristy spots, the totem poles…

.

.

.

.

.

and then it’s onto the walking/biking/running trail around the perimeter.

on the north side is this lovely view of the lion’s gate bridge…

.

an oversized gull (you know what I’m talking about if you’ve ever noticed how big they are out there!) sitting on “girl in a wetsuit”…

.

and then into my secret little space, my favourite little hideout and entryway into the interior forest…

.

.

.

and the typical west coast forest, big beautiful ferns, lots of moss, and intense green everywhere…

.

me hanging out in the moss…

.

trestle in the tall trees…

.

and then back onto the perimeter trail.

heading under the lion’s gate bridge, headed for the northeast side of the park.

across the way you see the divide between the cities of north and west vencouver…

.

siwash rock and the sparkling ocean as the sun is going down…

.

.

and the day ends with a lovely shot of the cargo ships hovering in the ocean under the setting sun, waiting for their turn to head under the lion’s gate bridge and into port…

.

and as the sun goes down, that’s it for this trip out west.

thanks for joining me.

I can’t wait to get back again!
